Sad is the state of this park (Illini State) but so is the case all across Illinios.nI chose to give this park a 4 because I grew up here and spent all of my childhood roaming this park and I can say if you look for them(kinda hard)nthere are some truely unique features here. It's off the beaten path so it is a little more private and has easy access to the river. It's really not that far from civiliztion either . So if you want a quiet campout close to the water this may be your park, and while your there help clean up a little... after all it's YOUR park!
The illini State Park is well maintained and a great place to spend time for a day or two. I come year round and camp. The Memorial Park dedicated for our brave soldiers who sacrificed and lost their lives to protect our freedom are well preserved and remembered.I salute out fallen heroes.nThe town had a few restaurants, antique store, grocery store, gas stations.
