Sides were very bland today but service was great!

My husband and I stop and eat at this cozy spot often when we travel into Iowa at least once a month. We love visiting with staff and our food is good. We stopped Sunday and were very surprised to see only one other customer wearing a face mask away from their table. Staff wears them however customers are not asked to and with numbers still not fully balanced it was disheartening to see yet. Then we were seated right between two other tables with plenty of room to have put us a distance apart. I would hope that when options are still available that you would be taking them to protect your customers. We understand each state is different however when you are by an interstate you should support all the states you serve, sad to say we will not be returning until things are under control. Stopped here on the way home on an epic trip from South Carolina to Montana and back. We were tired and cranky and likely to find fault.... However, the food was good and the service was good. The restaurant was clean. No complaints and if we were ever traveling through Council Bluffs again we would stop. You can almost always count on Cracker Barrel to have good food and above average service, regardless of where you are.

So, the service was great. The waitress was super nice and friendly and always made sure our drinks were refilled. And the food tasted great. The Maple Glazed Bacon Chicken was amazing tasting. However, both my wife and myself got food poisoning from it, because that's the only thing we both ate. The rest of the day was terrible.
