Mary Louise and Jim are wonderfully talented dancers who enjoy sharing their passion and knowledge with others. They made us feel very comfortable on the dance floor even though we were nervous at first. We looked forward to each weekly lesson and continued for just over a year. My husband and I had always talked about learning a few dance steps so we could hold our own at a party or wedding. We learned that dancing as a couple is a great physical, mental and emotional activity. After learning some basics, we continued, as we discovered we wanted to expand our repertoire. Mary Louise and Jim were happy to accommodate our goals. They are warm, welcoming, and organized. You will not regret treating yourself to the world of dance.
MaryLouise is the absolute best. She is so trained and knowledgeable about all ballroom technique and she is just a wonderful teacher and person. She will give you the best instruction and the most wonderful timing dancing to this amazing art form. I have lived as a performer in NYC and she is comparable to instruction there! I couldn’t recommend her more. She and her partner, Jim, are both dancers and instructors so you really get double the instruction. While one is dancing and showing, the other is giving feedback and critiquing. It’s really one of my favorite things. Trust me on this one.
Mary Louise and Jim are so much fun! They offer private ballroom dance lessons for individual students, couples, and even small groups. If you are a beginner who has no experience with dance, Mary Louise and Jim provide an encouraging and positive atmosphere that will gradually build your confidence until you're ready to go out onto the dance floor. Some of the dances they teach include Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Swing, Rhumba, Cha-Cha, Hustle, Salsa, Polka, and many, many more! If there's a song that you'd like to learn to dance to, just tell Mary Louise and Jim and they will find just the right dance to go with it. Plus, they are members of many dance clubs in the Charleston area, so you will be introduced to many places where you will be able to practice your newly-learned dance moves while you make lots of new friends!
