To start, if I could give this a negative rating, I WOULD!!! It was awful. My wife and I went to JH today after going through our W2's on turbotax. We thought that having a more certified individual go through our info with a finer tooth comb would be better. When we arrived, we were told it was the minimal consultation fee and that would be all. We however expected there to be some fee for filling out all the paperwork. Never as much as they asked us to pay at the end. The person that was actually inputting the info into their computer was by far the most incompetent person I've been in contact with in a very long time. Not only did she seem to not have any clue as to what she was doing, she could not do simple addition, subtraction, division, & multiplication. She continued to ask myself and my wife to figure out the calculations because she didn't know how to do them. I truly believe that she really had zero clues about what she was doing and how to do it. At some point during our 3 HOURS there, a man that was far more knowledgeable arrived and helped her for a moment, answered a couple of our questions, then left. Finally when she reached the end, (again 3 hours later, and our stuff is not very complicated), she told us the overall fee for the filing/consultation was $499. We were shocked to say the least. JH and the person working the desk should be more upfront about what people are expected to pay before getting to the end. This woman, then proceeded to try to sell us on paying this exorbitant amount for filing by telling us they simply had a guarantee about their work! No one gives a #$%^ about your guarantee when you haven't been upfront about what you're going to charge your customers. She had no clue about what codes were what, and how to enter all the information. I proceeded to make sure she knew how we felt about how she handled this and were totally unhappy and that we weren't going to pay $499 for that, especially when we did half her job sitting there for her. We ended up having to pay the $50 consultation fee and nothing more just so we could get out of that hell! DON'T GO NO MATTER WHAT!!!
