Fantastic little place! Lots of room with not that many people. Only cons are that costs a $10 day fee and that if the lot fills up you have to park in the lower lot and walk a mile to the river. Luckily we found a spot in the upper lot even though it was supposedly full. Absolutely no doubt in my mind that its a wonderful spot well worth $10 if you make it into the upper lot if you're stuck in the lower lot I'm not sure ita worth it.
If you don't mind the noise from the freeway overpass, it's a great place to visit. Close by to Battle Ground, Washington. I really had a good time here. There is a fantastic 9 hole Disc course here as well. I would definitely visit again.
The water is kind of cold but once the sun hits it, it is so warm and delightful and there are some rocks across the way that are really fun and great to jump off of. There is a river path that is shallow but leads on for a while. Paradise point is a really fun river area to go to.
Surprisingly large campground that is well maintained and well monitored by those who run it. Spots are a little close to each other but, there are enough trees around to give off the vibe that you're in your own little world. Great river access that's just a short walk away with a ton of different little spots along the riverbank to lounge out. Nice trails too!
The pandemic is making us a little stir crazy so we have been trying to set up as many camping trips as possible. We live in Portland and were looking for a last minute spot close and found this campground.nThe campground is right off of I5, which is convenient but you can hear louder cars. We have a insulated toy hauler so we had no issues with noise.nThe campground was clean and the camp host walked around multiple times per day to check on things. They also had a park ranger on site during the day.nThe park sits right next to the Lewis River. We rode our bikes down the hill (about 4 minutes downhill on bikes) to the day use area, right on the river. The spot is literally under the I5 bridge and is very noisy. The water was very calm and if it had been warmer would be perfect place for kids to swim.nThe park has some hiking trails, which we hiked and found a small creek with a waterfall.nOverall a nice park this close to Portland/Vancouver. We had fun and it was nice not having to drive 2 hours to a campground. Will we come again? I dont know. Not a park I would reserve 6 months in advance but as a last minute choice: yes.
