Reviews
Let's start off by saying that if I could give 100 stars review I would have. This place is definitely the place for you to go and ski. You will have the best experience ever, no doubt. The staff member are so nice! Once I enter the manager Jeff was so kind hearted and attentive. I am not going to forget this experience ever. That being said if you are thinking of coming to Wolf Ridge Ski, but you are not sure I suggest you THIS IS THE PLACE! Amazing energy and good people here, 10/10 :).. Oh! and the food WOW super good too !!!
We were visiting Asheville and were looking for a place to go skiing, it was a sort of rainy day and we opted for wolf ridge ski resort because it was near by. This place is awesome, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The equipment is in near new condition and prices are affordable. Upon arrival we met Jeff, super down to earth guy, who assisted us in the process of selecting our gear since it was our first time skiing. He gave us a tour of the facilities, coordinated the class for beginners and even assisted our daughter to get down the slopes. At the end we were allowed to bring our car close to the resort door to pick mom up and the girls who were wet with no additional dry clothes. I later came to find out that Jeff is the manager, way to go leading by example. It was first class service from beginning to end. Many thanks to Jeff and the staff.
Great resort with nice slopes for all skill levels. Unfortunately, I had to take off three stars due to the complete lack of organization. When we arrived, there was a hour long line to get in with no clear instructions on what the lines were for or even where to line up. While we bought tickets online, there was no designated place for advance purchasers to go, forcing us to wait in line with the normal queue. Once though the line, the rental shop was a complete disaster as well with no formal organization and was staffed by several unprofessional teenagers. It was not until the second day that I actually got someone who knew what they were doing and assembled the skis properly.nnOnce through the rental and ticket lines 2 hours later, the slopes staff were organized and well-mannered. The slopes themselves were fun and guests were courteous. If you do choose to go here, rent your skis elsewhere, purchase your tickets online, and arrive early to check in. Once you get your ticket you don't have to go back through the check in line if you have a multi day pass.
We chose Wolf Ridge for our first family ski trip due to the reviews of a smaller resort that was family oriented and catered to beginners and it did not disappoint. We got there early to avoid the long lines which was a huge plus. Every employee we interacted with (which were several as we had skiers and snowboarders - plus lessons; Noah was super nice and patient) was very pleasant and helpful. As the only one that didn’t ski, I spent a lot of time in the lodge in front of the big fireplaces which was a nice touch. They only had 2 rocking chairs though but since we were there right when they opened I was able to enjoy for a while. Also, one of the staff offered me a hot chocolate on the house - double bonus and very appreciated! The only reason we didn’t give Wolf 5 stars was because of much needed repairs or upgrades some areas. The parking lots, although spacious and plenty, were just a mud pit by mid day when ice melted. The stairs connecting the parking lots needs to have some of the steps replaced. Made for a difficult and some places dangerous walk back and forth. The bathroom stalls need some attention with locks not working properly and by the afternoon really needed to be cleaned with so much use. Also, it would be nice to have paper towels instead of air blowers. It’s the little first impressions that go a long way. Overall it was a good experience -Thanks Wolf Ridge!
This is place was a good value. The group snowboard lesson we did was good. Our instructor was helpful and had a buff around his neck to pull up and cover his face anytime he got closer which I appreciated. Only two staff members indoors had masks/neck buffs which was extremely disappointing. The snowboard rental was not great. We needed a women's size 9.5 in boots, but there were only sizes 9 or available. The first pair we were given were ripped and torn, the next were soaking wet, and finally the third pair were fine. The woman helping us with the boots was one of the two staff members wearing a mask and was very helpful and nice. I would go back, but not during COVID times.
