I love having access to a hike with so much flexibility. You can do a quick down and back or add a little on by crossing the swinging bridge. You can also choose to head out to Edwards point or do the loop to see signal point which you come out a walkable distance from where you parked you car through a safe, historic neighborhood
My family and I visited Rainbow Lake and Edward's Point yesterday. I have been around Signal Mountain many times while living in the area. This was my first time here. Wow. My family has been here before.nWe started at Rainbow Lake trail head and we hiked to Edward's Point. This is a nice hike and we walk along the golf course for a short while, which is nice, then you hike down to Rainbow Lake. The Lake has a small dam where the water flows over like a waterfall. Beautiful.nYou then come to a swinging bridge to cross the creek. Amazing and fun.nThen we continue to hike the trail to Edward's Point which is 3.8 miles out and back. The trail is a moderate hike. The rewards of getting to Edward's Point are truly amazing. While there we saw 2 Juvenile Bald Eagles flying around. Then we saw a 3rd mature Bald Eagle fling around with the 2 younger Eagles. Wow amazing show.nEdward's Point is great. Awesome views of the Tennessee River and Downtown Chattanooga. Great experience.
Very peaceful place to hike and stay in contact with nature. Along the trails you can find creeks and a lot of beautiful plants, trees and rock formations.
Beautiful! Took us about 30 minutes to hike to the lake from the parking lot. Rigorous for a beginner, but worth it. Make sure you have hiking boots, lots of rocks on the trail.
Very beautiful. Great place to go to get out and enjoy mother nature!
