Nice waterfall(s). My cycling friends and I are always looking for something new to see and this popped up.nRight next to I-75 behind Cove Lake State Park, we finally determined this creek must have been rerouted away from the interstate. It passes through what appears to be a man-made chasm (from the drilling marks in the rock creating the falls). A bit further down the creek it passes through a culvert for a short distance. There'd be no reason for the culvert unless it was done to facilitate the building of the interstate.nBut man-made or not, its a nice sight...well worth the short walk. The walk is rather steep and rocky and not particularly well maintained. But it's manageable. Above the falls, there is a split log bridge leading to a trail to the top of the ridge. It hot steeper and more rocky. One guy went a bit further than me, but not to the top. I stopped at the bridge.nIt was a great destination only an hour north of Knoxville with lots of interesting little roads between home and there.
The hike to see the triple falls up bruce creek is a small one, but getting all the way up to the scenic view atop the Devil's Racetrack, is about a couple of miles roundtrip. The elevation gain is moderate and honestly, the hike itself is moderate unless you head out right after a rain/snow event when the trail becomes a little more slippery than expected. It's a great trail where your pups can join in, and the view from the top is pretty damn good
Great short hike. Well maintained. About 700' elevation change with some stair climbs along the way. Not too difficult though and worth it to go to the top. Great views of Cove Lake and surrounding areas. A number of folks brought their dogs along. All ages along the trail. Around 30 minutes from Knoxville.
Nice and quite ..good place to relax and hike
I absolutely LOVE Little Egypt, me and my beautiful wife Andrea Goodman drive my truck up to where the hiking trail begins and enjoy the beautiful woods
