I would also give The Father's House 10 or 20 stars if I could!!! I adopted a dog from this rescue a few years ago. These are the kindest, friendliest, hardest working and most sincere people I have ever seen that work in rescue. They love the animals and you can tell the animals love them. I had to fill out an application and go through the house check too, they just have to be sure that their beloved animal that they are adopting out goes to a home that is safe, responsible, and secure. They have high standards but it is for the dog's safety! Especially because this area is pretty rural, and there are LOTS of people around this area who mistreat and neglect their animals! Also, they have sent me and my pets Christmas presents too every year, even to my other dog that I didn't adopt from them, and even sent a gift when we had a baby! I highly recommend them and what they do. Couldn't find nicer people, cleaner kennels, or healthier dogs. They work hard to help the animals, to place them in safe forever homes, and their love for them goes on and on. I even think they love me too!! I tell everyone I can about this place, and they have even inspired friends of mine to work in animal rescue. 5 stars for sure!

We have had an excellent working relationship with the Father's House International for many years. They are continually helping animals in our community that are in need. They are kind, thorough, patient individuals that we appreciate and look forward continuing to work with. Thank you for all you do to help so many!

I'm sorry Savannah had a bad experience. I'd give this group 10 stars. We adopted our dog about three years ago. Yes, there is a formal process but FHI does this to protect the dogs. The kennel areas are clean, the dogs healthy, and the staff very helpful. We stay in touch with Sunshine exchanging periodic emails and our dog gets a Christmas gift from the staff every year. We couldn't be happier with the whole process and think that FHI is EXCELLENT!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had called Father's House to call about a dog that they had up for adoption. I talked with a woman named Sunshine and we talked about who I was, why I moved to South Carolina and my interest in the adoption process. I told Sunshine that I was engaged and she said that was fine. I visited the dog I wanted to adopt and decided to submit an application. After submitting my application I was expected to hear something back in the next couple days, but nothing. When I tried calling no one would answer, they would hang up on me or simply ignore my messages and emails. I finally get a hold of Sunshine a week after submitting my application and she tells me that I have been denied because I AM NOT MARRIED. She said my lifestyle was not suited for their agency and that this adoption would not work out. Yes, Sunshine I am engaged and not married, but I that does not mean I am not a good candidate for this dog. I chose a Christian organization, because as a Christian I was hoping for a really positive experience, but instead I was met with judgement. I would encourage you to review this verse, Matthew 7:5 - You hypocrite! First, remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.nThere are plenty of loveless, un-Christian marriages out there, but apparently if you aren't married or if you are living with your significant other you are automatically cast out by this group.nIf you are without sin and commit no wrong doing in your life, then I will gladly admit that I am wrong.nI would have loved to give this older dog a loving home, where he would be number one priority. Unfortunately, you decided to let your judgement and opinions make assumptions about who I am. This could have all been easily avoided if they had been up front with me when I said that I was not married during my first phone call with Sunshine. Please know that if you are looking to adopt with this agency that you must fit into the mold of these people and if you are not you will be met with false hope, judgement and unreturned phone calls.
