I wouldn’t have even given them one star from my experience. I saw on the site last year 2 male brothers that needed to be adopted so I went to the shelter to see them. I was told they didn’t have any such dogs so again, I went home and checked on site and they were still being advertised. This time I call and I was told they were there but being sent to New York!!! Here I am, an Oconee County resident needing pups that would have a great place to roam and the dogs are going to New York!!!! Plus I was lied to and when I questioned them about it, the person just said very rudely that the dogs will be happy! I’m sure they do good works but they didn’t do the right thing in my case. Need to update hours of operations.
They claim to be a no kill shelter, but I live right next to them and can see everything from my yard. Countless occasions have we seen them taking stiff dog carcasses out back and burning them in an incinerator. It smells awful. Honestly should get shut down.
