Magnolia Park and Community Garden is a great park and garden that is an excellent community resource. I like all that the garden has to offer and was impressed with everything that I saw. I really enjoyed all of the signs and sayings in the garden. I also like the park and the wide open green space here. It is fun to run around and get some fresh air here.

Exactly what the neighborhood needs

I just love this place! It is a beautiful and interesting focal point for our neighborhood. The park manager Leslie Wade gives classes from time to time and they offer a wealth of informative and seasonal information. I had a raised bed here for a couple of years, and it served as an excellent teaching tool for my children regarding sustainable and organic food production. The community beds offer a chance to give labor and fresh food back to the community. Fresh produce from them is donated to 180 Place and provides an excellent food source for the homeless. I have met many neighbors here and enjoyed quite a bit of good old fashioned sunshine. The garden also sponsors public events like outdoor movie nights from time to time. As a native southern gardener I am proof this community garden has something to teach all of us. Although I was raised eating fresh produce from my grandfather's garden I have seen many vegetables grown that I had never seen before and discovered I like fresh raw okra!

Wi-Fi didn't work. It's supposed to be part of Charleston free Wi-Fi.
