I had an unpleasant experience yesterday, simply standing outside of this establishment in the public parking zone while my wife was getting donuts at the business next door. We had just arrived from Charlotte and my wife went to grab the donuts while my 2 yr old was in the back sleeping. I stood outside my car to get some fresh air and I was confronted by an employee ( a blonde woman) who came outside and asked me if I had an appointment or if I were just hanging out. I thought the question was strange, being a man who is clearly bald (& a military vet with tattoos), who wouldn't have an appointment for a salon. In retrospect, I shouldn't have had to explain myself to this person, but I replied telling her I did not have an appointment and was waiting for someone. To provide more context, I am an ethnic person with a tan complexion who moved down to the Carolinas two years ago from up north. I have had similar experiences like this before and feel the need to ve more vocal when it happens. No one should feel unwelcome to a town their visiting, based on his/her appearance. I had every right to stand outside on a public sidewalk and the employee shouldn't have made me feel uncomfortable in doing so.

This group of stylists are 100% top notch + the space is absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of parking in the garage located right there + choices for coffee and lunch if needed. Great downtown location without getting into the hassle of the true Charleston traffic. I also love that they are carrying R+Co products. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a five star experience.

I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about this salon. It’s hard to find a really solid salon with so many options in this town but IX Artistry just really hits all the marks. I have always been able to book an appointment with ease which makes me feel like a priority as their client. They also send me reminders via text which is always helpful! The vibe of the salon is professional and so welcoming. Everyone in there always has a smile and I feel right at home when I am there. I’ve never left dissatisfied in any way and I know if I ever did they would go above and beyond to fix what I thought was wrong. I always feel like they helped tap into my inner goddess and I leave feeling like my best (extra blonde) self. Seriously don’t hesitate giving these guys a try with your business, you won’t be disappointed.
