Refreshing smoothies, very kind staff, delicious muffins, the only thing holding it back from a 5 star is the wait. I've waited 20 minutes for 3 smoothies before on what seemed like a relatively calm morning. Not sure what the issue there was, but once I got the smoothies I was satisfied. A few other mornings have been notably slow to serve the order as well, though not as bad as the previous example.

The food was very good, I got a turkey and apple sandwich on a croissant. The bread was really fresh and lots of meat on the sandwich, I wish it would have had a bit more apple. My friend had a panini which was on some thick loaf type bread and had a ton of meat on it also. A couple options but not many for vegans, vegetarians. There are many tables and chairs inside and it was getting really busy when we got there. They do have an outside area but it was a little chilly so we didn't want to sit outside. There is another area that is to the right and can be accessed from inside the cafe or from the outer part of the enclosed very small little mall part. This area was also unheated but not directly outside. I wish they had more inside seating. The staff was very nice, the prices are good and the food was good, especially the potato salad.

First of all, this Cafe is located next to a nice used bookstore, which is awesome. My friend recommended that I try the Grits Bowl (pictured) aka The Downtown Mess. They now offer multiple types, but I just know the Augusta style is so good. I no longer live in the area, but I still think about the grits bowl. I was just passing through, so I made a detour to get it. Sometimes they run out of grits by the end of the day, so you might want to call to make sure they have it. The staff is always nice and helpful. Once, they took a while to bring our soup, but then they gave us a delicious cookie. I also like that they have outdoor seating.

Went for lunch, 2 others at our table got their food while mine just sit behind the counter. Had to take food to go as the table was done eating by the time I got my food.nnUpdate to 4 stars after going back. Decent food and service and normal downtown prices. Good selection of vegetarian options.

Update 3/6/21: still love this place, but their wait time is crazy now! 45 minutes for a coffee and avocado toast is a bit much.nnLove this place! Female-owned and proud supporter of Augusta Pride. Food was great, and the service/staff were amazing! Highly recommend!!!
