Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Greeted at the door, ample room inside with lots of tables and booths, and a large bar.nRetro theme going. Quickly seated and greeted. Daily slices on paper with full menu off a QWERTY scan.nLunch special is a slice, a salad, and a drink for $10, otherwise it’s $3.75 per slice.nI went with Foghorn and Fat Tony and was pleased with both. They were well topped, the crust had a good chew, and the pies were cooked perfect.

So sad to leave this review. My first experience here was stellar! We were excited to share our experience with some family on Super Bowl Sunday. We ordered 3 pizzas on Wednesday for pick up at 5 pm on Sunday. I called to make sure this wouldn't be an issue. On Sunday I get there, and they are pulling my pizzas out of the oven. When we get home and dig in, 2 of our pizza crusts are over done. Hard as a rock and black on the bottom. When I pay that much for a pizza or 3, I expect 3 delicious and edible pizzas. I will say the third pizza was right on part with our expectations.

This pizza place is FANTASTIC. I am a pizza lover, which means I'm pretty choosy about where I get pizza and recommend it from. The atmosphere is sweet - there's pop culture references all over the place. You can sit in a booth, at a table, or at the bar where there's tons of craft beers and cocktails. The staff members were very friendly to us and we were seated immediately. Our drinks came out in a timely manner. We ordered garlic knots and the a manager was up front with us by letting us know that the knots were going to take a moment to be made, so he offered us complimentary marinara meatballs. All of the food, including salad, pizza, garlic knots, and meatballs were absolutely delicious. ASK FOR THE PINK SAUCE. It is so good to dip knots and crust in!

High prices, trendy, average pizza. I spent over 30 bucks on a pizza that was unimpressive and made me sick. The garlic knots had no garlic on them.nPie Hole and Umbertos are far superior and what they lack in atmosphere they make up in good pizza and reasonable prices.nEmpire is not for those who know what good pizza is.

Don't expect to go in and get just one slice, it's too good to not try at least two. Excellent food, stellar service. Don't make it downtown often, but this is my new go to lunch spot when I do.
