Some of these reviews are ridiculous. No real criticisms, just a one star with nonsensical reviews and bad grammar to boot. My Kids come from a big city environment with truly bad schools. I spent tens of thousands of dollars putting them through catholic schools in San Francisco. We recently moved up here and as my choices were slim I had to enroll my son into Sequim High. My daughter graduated from a top notch high school in San Francisco, and although the facilities were nicer, and there were more offerings in terms of classes, the education was on par with what we have here in Sequim. There are some obvious negatives to Sequim High, most of which could be fixed with some real support for the community. If you folks that are unhappy with the way things are would support the school instead of voting down bonds meant to help, maybe the negatives would get turned around. I am giving a 4 star rating only because there is no 3.5 star. Sequim High could be better, but wont be without community support. I am a homeowner and would have no problem paying higher taxes to better our school, even after my son graduates. If all the folks in Sequim had that attitude we would have a 5 star school.

Excellent school, excellent teachers, other reviews are from disgruntled non-bond supporters, probably no connection to school itself, my students were prepped for college and life. I have been through many school districts and Sequim is doing well. Maybe if the overwhelming majority of senior citizens with no children of school age would support their school, it could have more funding and get even better. Go Wolves!

As a alum I am mostly on the fence about this school. In my first two years there, I would have put this as a 1, or possibly a 2 if I wanted to be nice, but my last two years were some of the best. As someone who has been through some of the programs offered and knowing people who attended the others, I can honestly say that it was well worth sticking the 4 years in. I was part of their choral program all 4 years, and I've got to say that it was one of my favorite courses to take. The teachers, though some are more strict in helping, will work with you if you put the full incentive in. Their optional school program was a blessing. I went in there doubting that I would graduate on time and in a matter of months I went from having that doubt to feeling truly accomplished with the work I had done. The counselors there will work with you, be it a schedule change, or a very concerning topic you need to lay off your chest. I wouldn't say that going there was a completely good experience though. They have a few problems to address when it comes to bullying but what school doesn't? The only regret I've ever had was that the school bond didn't pass. I know that the performing arts kids deserve a building that they don't need to walk off campus to, especially since both programs have won a multitude of awards.nAll in all, if you're considering having your kids attend shs that you should expect a mostly positive atmosphere amongst the teachers, a vast library and an extracurricular tutoring/studying program called opportunity to excel (which I regret not using as much as I could), the staff supply the students with as much resources they can for the students to use.
