Wilmes Ford

I'm about a angry with Wilmes Ford as I ever have been with any company. I took my 2020 Fusion (5,700 miles) in for maintenance because the shifter dial is very difficult to turn. (My wife can't turn it; I can barely turn it. We have to turn it all the way to drive before turning it back to reverse, or it will keep on going back to park on its own. )nnThe dealer said it wasn't covered under warranty because of the debris (pictured, if you can see it. There isn't much. Photos taken while we were waiting for the paperwork at the dealer.) That amount of debris is what I call NORMAL USE, (edit - I'd actuall call it pretty darned clean) and if that causes a malfunction, there is a defect.nnNo more Fords. (edit - I had a great experience at another dealer, so ... maybe). No more Wilmes. (Edit - Absolutely no more Wilmes) (I didn't buy this one there because they has no SE models in stock; I did buy my 2017 Focus there.nnEdit /Follow up - I took may car to another dealer and they fixed it under warranty with no issues. I had them send photos of the removed part - no sign of any debris. I asked the tech if there was any possibility it was cause by debris, and he answered there was no debris.nnIf you didn't buy your car at Wilmes (Altus AFB is right there - if you PCS'd in and own a Ford) take it elsewhere. If you did buy it there, I still wouldn't trust them.

Parts dept was spot on found and ordered the part I needed fast and easily. Great customer service as well.

It’s honestly amazing to me that this shop is open. They’ve never answered my questions when I would call about my car. They treated me as a parent scolding a child would when I called to ask questions regarding why they hadn’t even started on my car for 7 days. Hire better people, hire people who can manage their temper, hire people who aren’t absolutely incompetent, hire people who can answer questions about their own damn job. It's hard for me to enjoy a car buying experience, but Wilmes is a great place with great folks, especially Alicia!!!! We love our new Lincoln Aviator!!!! Thanks, Wilmes!!!
