Breathtaking overlook near the end (or beginning) of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I went in October 2020 on a busy weekend when leaves were at peak on the blue ridge parkway and this was one of the few overlooks that had no one around.
There are numerous excellent overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Ballhoot Scar Overlook, though, is not one of them. This overlook overlooks a lush valley with Hyatt Ridge in the background, but it's far less majestic compare to overlooks further down the Blue Ridge Parkway.
