Hickory Nut Falls Family Campground

Camped in a tent with my boyfriend for the weekend and was secluded and right by the river! Just a small walk from the bath house which was totally fine! Such a gorgeous place to camp at and the staff are very friendly and recommended a wonderful restaurant called Medinas! (Get the roasted red pepper bisque, its amazing) cant wait to come back in March and visit again! Loved how its close to Chimney Rock village! The best tent site for sure it lot 78!! You won't regret it!!

Camped here a last weekend and we had a great experience! We camped right on the river and it was beautiful! It’s a great location and a short drive to the chimney rock village! The people who own the campground are super nice! I ended up locking my keys on our truck and the owner was nice enough to come out and help us get the door unlocked! We definitely will be back to camp again!

The river is right there!! You can hear it pretty much from anywhere you are on the property. The firewood on-site is nice and dry. The tent camping along the river seems really cramped, but RV parking looks pretty decent. The camp bathhouse isn't fancy, but it's camping, right? We tent camped in lot 55, and it was not on the river, but a bit more secluded, if that is your thing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would love to get a group of friends to reserve the on river campsites, so we could all hang together easily. Minutes from Chimney Rock state park, shopping and a lovely winery and cool river front brewery. Great little place.

Lucky for us, some campers no showed and we scored a last minute site for the holiday weekend. We ended up at campsite 71, which was perfect for us with 2 small children (close to the bath house) and a dog (close to grassy dogwood area). Not to mention, it was riverfront, which provided a natural sound machine for a great night’s sleep! The proximity to Chimney Rock Village and State Park as well as Lake Lure is unbeatable. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We can’t wait to plan our next trip!

Came here for the weekend with my husband and some friends and I can not say enough how amazing this place is! Not only is the scenery AMAZING but right from the get go they treated me like family so to speak, when I asked if the site would hold two tents they found an opening that was better suited for our needs and even came down to let us know about it when it became available! We will DEFINITELY be coming back!!
