Simple Life Mountain Retreat and campground

Alan is an incredibly down to earth human. He has created an environment that truly does feel simple. He was especially considerate in helping out my unique situation and provided a quiet cabin for me to stay in while I was there for work. If you are looking for a quiet spot and simple amenities, this place has it. Consider supporting a local ,who has a simple but comfortable set up. I would certainly stay here again. He is also a bee keeper, so ask about his delicious sour wood honey....and homemade apple butter. Thanks for being a great human ,Alan. Keep up the good work.nnChris,

Close to tail of the dragon, town close by.

We rented the Butterfly Patch Cabin at Simple Life for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it! The owners, Alan and Lenette, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We loved learning about and exploring the area during the day, and grilling and relaxing by the firepit right outside of our cabin at night! They conveniently have firewood and ice available for purchase which was a lifesaver! The bath house was incredibly clean, conveniently located, and we never had to wait (place was fully booked). We can't wait to come back! When you go, make sure you don't leave without getting some of Alan's locally made honey and the legendary Mountain Maw's Apple Butter!

They're doing a good thing here at Simple Life! It's the only place I'll stay for our trips to the gap. Plenty of amenities, well lit motorcycle parking all over, and the cabins are fantastic. Thanks for running a great little retreat!

My son and I spent a few days at Simple Life Campground. We stayed in a cabin called the Fishing hole, it was clean and comfortable, It’s also surrounded by beautiful towering trees, and was so nice to walk out your door and be able to listen to all the birds singing with no city sounds.nThe nights we stayed were cold, so we used the fire pit just outside the cabin, we sat around the fire and talked, those are memories I will never forget. The owners of Simple life campground treat you like familynnot just a guest. I will definitely go back.
