I’ve sailed Hobbie Cats for 20+ years, and wanted to learn to sail larger keel boats. I signed up at the beginning of last season for the ASA 101, ASA 103, and ASA 104. There were two of us in the ASA 101 course, and the instructor Chris was very knowledgeable, calm and patient. Jeff, the owner, was the instructor for my ASA 103 and 104 courses. Jeff formerly flew helicopters for the Navy, spent 2 years sailing with his family of six, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a sailing instructor.nnI co-captained on a 45 footer in the British Virgin Islands a couple of weeks ago, and realized how strong the ASA training with Sail Solomons was. There was nothing that surprised me on boat handling skills, docking, mooring, anchoring, boat systems, navigation, provisioning, etc.nnI strongly recommend both Sail Solomons, and the ASA program.
Mike and I learned a lot today. Not much wind but we worked on our skills. We hope Jeff can hone them by end of next season. The staff is spot on. Beautiful day!
My son and I spent a great weekend with Barry and the Sail Solomons staff taking the ASA 101 course. The fellowship was great and the instruction outstanding. Looking forward to the next course.
The school with Jeff at the helm is great and instructor Lisa Batchelor is awesome!!! I highly recommend both :-)
