Reviews
One should always balance good and bad comments when writing reviews. I wrote a scathing review for a controller at the tower about 2 months ago. Perhaps he was having a bad day and so was I. However, after spending more time learning and training , I have seen the true nature of these controllers, and I have to say their professionalism is unmatched.nnAs a new student pilot talking on training of aircraft, leaning radio communications, and managing all the systems things can sometimes seem overwhelming. However, after being part of the flow and listening to the tower communications for several weeks. I had to update my review. I feel there has been a vast upgrade in the level of support for student pilots.nnThey have either knowingly or unknowingly been a big part of my learning. Just as importantly, they somehow did it and helped me vastly increase my radio communication skills by taking away a lot of the stress associated with what a lot of pilots describe nervousness when flying into towered airports.nnThis reduces the amount of stress new student pilots and licensed pilots may face when operating aircraft. These guys make Gwinnett Airport a great place to fly for beginners and seasoned pilots. Big thumbs up.nnP.S. This doesn't mean I want to see everyone flood the airport. At least not until my training is over. :)
Great airport with some great amenities
11/8/19 ~ Visited the airport for a tour of the Aluminum Overcast, a restored B-17. The tour allowed visitors full freedom to explore the interior of the aircraft (see pics in photo album). It was a fascinating experience. Many thanks to the local EAA Chapter, for sponsoring this event. Very impressive!
Great airport with some great amenities! If you ever thought about flight training or watching planes and eating so food, there's no better place!
Great airport with friendly staff at Gwinnett Aero. Definitely recommend and will be back.
