Nice place to stay for a while and take a lot of pictures... You can also visit the O'leary's Tiki bar & Grill and take boat rides. All at the same place...

My Awesome Brother who served in the Navy during Viet Nam married my precious Sister in law who has been a R,N, for more than 50 years. Intook a picture of them kissing in front of this iconic statue. They are my favorite Sailor and Nurse ! Married now more than 50 years and still In Love!

Sarasota's Unconditional Surrender statue is an artist's rendering of an actual event. It occurred in Times Square, New York City just when it was announced that WWII was over. Everyone ran onto the streets and shouted with joy. At this time a Navy soldier happened to be near a nurse, he gave her a very passionate kiss therefore the name. This famous picture ended up on the cover of the New York Times. Eventually they found out the identities of the soldier and nurse. They have both passed away. A must see while near Marina Jack in Sarasota.
