Really easy hike down from the visitors center on big meadows trail. Beautiful mix of trees and brush. .6 miles down to fossil beach. Not the largest stretch of beach so if there are multiple families there it would be tight. Trail leads right off to the marsh area and more trails. Definitely where sneakers or mud shoes as most of the lower trails were very wet. Very pretty and easy walk.

Nice short hike through the woods down to the beach. Took dog and kids and had a blast.

This is a great place to find shark teeth and other fossils. To get to the beach, park at the Westmoreland State Park welcome center, and hike along the Big Meadow trail for 0.6 mile. The trail ends right at Fossil Beach.

Weren’t sure what we were looking for, then a couple rock pros showed us the teeth they found and gave us some inspiration!nnUpdate - we went back in the evening and got one!!!nnN.B. There’re some flies there that eat you alive!! They’re relentless and any part of your body that isn’t covered or in water will be bitten.
