Security Self-Storage

Renters Beware. We had a great move-in experience, during which the manager told us there are security cameras that cover our unit and he and other staff walk the premises each day to check the units. This seemed great. Well, we came to the unit yesterday and our lock was cut and laying on the ground in front of the unit. We had several items stolen and when bringing this to the manager’s attention, he explained the security camera doesn’t actually have a view of the unit but that he could maybe see people in the vicinity. What?! That is certainly not what we were told upon the initial visit. Then he was surprised that the lock was on the ground because of course he began by saying that the lock was cut so close he couldn’t have seen it during his walks on the property. So what is the excuse for why he didn’t see it cut, laying on the ground with no lock on the unit?? Well he had none. This is a stressful situation and to find out that the “security” is really a sham made this so much worse and we had to move everything out again to find a new storage company where we will have to move everything again. Beware of this place, if you want an actual secured location.nnUPDATE:nThe owner’s response to this review was that there wasn’t a break-in and this may be a different place. You should talk to your manager, as this IS the Old Broadmoor location in Colorado Springs and there was a theft reported to your office this week. No one has reached out from the company and you have our information on file to do so. This is false advertising and a complete lack of customer service. Shame on you.

I can't say enough about Ted at Security Self-Storage. I needed a storage unit on a Sunday . We had a tight timeline as we were leaving town. Ted went above and beyond to meet us before they opened to help me out. He has been so helpful and always has a smile on his face. The place is clean and safe as well. Best storage experience ever!
