Last night I went downtown to find dinner. After being told there was more than a 1hr wait at 2 different places, I noticed Fur Trappers Steakhouse was open. I was able to get a table right away. The service, from the time I walked in the door was fantastic. I had a few beers, the cheese curds and ribeye. I couldn't have asked for a better dinner. The food was fantastic and the steak was cooked perfect. They absolutely earned my repeat business!

Fantastic!! We almost didn't go ....so glad we did. The decor was modern w tribute to the frontier. The food was perfect. Ribeye steaks for myself and son, were spot on. My wife/daughter had a sirloin , the most tender and juiciest we've ever had, anywhere. As Texas native residents, we've seen some steaks. The service was awesome as well. They made us feel welcome, from when we called ahead, to when we left, and every moment in between. The all around best meal we had on our trip. Go see them...you won't be disappointed.

Yes there are so many ways my experience could have been better. My boyfriend and I spent close to two hours there and then I had to take him to get fast food afterwards. We were there for lunch. Waited 20 minutes on his drink that was crazy overpriced. You then said the ticket fell behind the register but brought us a charbroiled burger that was cold 40 minutes after we ordered. Clearly it had been sitting in the window and that was a complete lie. Two hours there and we had two drinks a piece and the tab was 50 bucks. Taking the burger we didn’t eat wasn’t a huge help. Also when I called you completely dismissed me. Durango is a small town and we talk a lot. Not helping your business because I talked to a friend and she said she had the same experience. I understand you just opened but there were servers everywhere and there were ten people in the entire restaurant. Was really excited to have a steak house that didn’t cost an arm and a leg but it turns out you do and you don’t actually get to eat.

Husband took me here on date night last night. It was amazing. I had the chicken Alfredo and a salad made with spring mix. My huband had the burger and he loved it!

The service was unsurpassed!! Every owner, manager, and wait staff came by multiple times to check on us from the greeting to holding the door open when we departed. The mahi-mahi special was superb...quality and quantity was a treat. The sourdough bread was yummy. We took food home because the portions were big.
