This is a beautiful hike with lake after lake and view after view. You’ll love it. We got to the parking lot at 7:30 am and got a spot. We took our time to hike, enjoyed the hike and had a picnic so it took about 5 hours. When we finished the lot was full! Lots of people there to fish and many people going to camp overnight on the trail. It was a Tuesday. The morning wasn’t crowded and the afternoon was busier but not uncomfortable with crowds. The hike is really wonderful.

Nicely maintained with a pit toilet at both the main and overflow parking lots. However, main parking lot is commonly is full by 8:30 am.nnTrail starts off with a very gradual incline, but shade is limited.

Beautiful trail through a valley to numerous alpine lakes. Gem lake at the end is so serene you wouldnt want to leave. Mountains in almost every direction the further in you go.

Beautiful hike! Kid and dog friendly. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend it. Make sure to bring bug spray.
