Just a brief observation: there are 12 campsites, each with bear-proof food storage bins, firepit, and table. Each site can facilitate tents, but if you have a camper or small RV (preferably less than 20 feet) one can camp comfortably. The main reason for short RV's is parking. It's a loop, so any long vehicle's will restrict movement of other vehicles. Also, any issues you may have that'll make your trip better, let the hosts know (there are at least 3 in the pass area...Saddlebag, Ellery, and Junction campgrounds).
Had a great time here. Clean and well managed by the Park Ranger. Helpful and informative. A compliment to his department and himself as a great steward of public land
Just outside Yosemite, this is a gem of a campground. No hookups, but the view more than made up for that. It’s not far off the road, but wasn’t an issue. The sites closest to the lake fill quickly. Each site has an assigned picnic table.
Beautiful place to go camping !
This must be one of the most scenic campgrounds. But keep in mind that for the views you pay in high elevation and high exposure. In other words, it gets really cold here in the evenings and nights even during hot summer days.
