Fort Hamilton

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We stayed overnight in the old barracks. The restoration effort has been tremendous. I would easily advise a day trip or a night stay as long as you don't expect fancy accommodations. It is just like jumping back in time to the late 1800s.

Love visiting historical places and getting all the stories from locals. It was a lot of fun.

If your in Newport Rhode Island you should really take the tour well worth the price the money is going to a good cause

Beautiful place for taking pictures. Even in less than perfect weather its a great place to take photos, IE, a foggy day. Try and get sunsets under the bridge if it is a clear day. Bring a tripod for night shots.nnIf you stay overnight, bring some instant coffee and non dairy creamer. Showers will be cool unless the water warms up in the sun.nnLots of birds nesting during the summer time. If the birds warn you off, respect their nests and young, they live here.
