My daughter attends Emmanuel Day School and we love everything about it. The teachers are always cheerful, welcoming, and positive. The room is full of interesting educational toys and activities. The curriculum has our 3 year old learning very quickly and surprising us all the time with the things she's learning. She's learning new songs, making cool new art in ways we hadn't tried before, learning about science, and getting darn good at writing her name! We are a military family who will only be in the area for a few months and they were completely welcoming and willing to work with our timeframe. Our girl is blossoming there, both educationally and socially- the teachers are helping our energetic and sometimes wild girl learn her manners and how to be a citizen and a classmate. Love the sight of coming to pick her up and she and her classmates are running in the church yard in their adorable uniforms. We will miss this place deeply when we go.

We have sent three children to this school and find the teachers there currently and the director of the school there now to be more then excellent. They are truly caring and we do not think you can fine a better environment and small school setting in the Newport Area. They have done a great job teaching both of our boys and our daughter the beginning stages of schooling and life.nOur two older children still enjoys going back there to see the school and the awesome setting it offers, which get ‘s better every year.

My daughter has attended EDS for the last year and I am so incredibly thankful we found this wonderful school. Beautiful facilities in a building adjacent to the Episcopal Church, and the children have access to the lovely grassed gardens for outside play time. I can't speak highly enough of the staff - Terri, Kate and the principal Carissa. They genuinely care about each and every child and put so much creativity and effort into organizing the daily activities. My daughter has really blossomed at EDS. I am so sad we will be moving shortly as I wish all my children had the opportunity to experience such an enriching preschool. Can't recommend it highly enough!!

This is our fourth year at the Emmanuel Day School, First with our daughter now 6 and currently with our son who is 4. My daughter can't wait to vist EDS on days she has off and her brother is still in school.nThe environment of this school has a unique feel, that you won't find in another facility. The students start their day with a relaxed warm up period were all classes co-mingle together in free choice play. This has a great way of bringing the whole school together as a community.nBoth my children have thrived at the school. My daughter entered kindergarten reading chapter books, my son is well on his way too. I feel good as a parent that my children have had such a positive foundation set for them for their educational experience. The teachers have been nothing but loving and caring towards my children. I recommend this school to anyone who asks me about preschools in newport.

do your homework..the teachers do not have credentials and are not certified teachers. being a military mom, i have learned to dig deeper than appearances. all you have to do is ask about the teacher qualifications and you know. being a volunteer at church does not qualify someone to call themselves a teacher, being a mom does not qualify you to call yourself a teacher....
