Very nice to walk.
Located in the heart of Middletown astride Bailey Brook before it enters Easton Pond. Had there been a siege of Newport in 1778, British lines would have extended along the western Ridge to 2 mile corner with redoubts above Easton pond at green end. French would have landed near Melville and approached from the north and west main road, Americans would have manned lines along tuckerman Ridge and Johnnycake Hill opposite the Ridge above this park. If you're not a fan of historical fantasy, vote to impeach 11/3/20.
