We loved this campground! Absolutely beautiful, centrally located in the Black Hills, convenient to Hill City for groceries, and easy access (especially for longer motorhomes). There is a large area of grass in the center of the campground and it is the perfect place to watch the stars at night. We saw a comet, the Int'l Space Center and the Milky Way. What a treat! Our site was level and we had easy access to the office, store, pool, and playground. Well worth the price.

Probably the best campsite we have stayed. I loved all the space between the sites. We had the opportunity to switch sites and have an open field with hills behind us. The customer service was excellent and they helped us out two different occasions.nnWhen we look at the other nearby campsites, Rafter J Bar is simply the best. We will be back. Hopefully in the same spot.

We stayed at Rafter J during September. Perfect RV Park! Spacious sites, clean, and the surroundings are super!nWe will plan to stay with them again soon!

We recently camped here for four nights with our children and grandchildren in a total of 3 rigs. What a magnificent park with such beautiful views and amenities. The sites are large with plenty of space to spread out. The staff was very nice, especially their maintenance manager, (Dennis?) who was extremely helpful to assist us in replacing a lost tool that was used with the setup of our trailer. If you are going to South Dakota, this location is a must - you will not be disappointed.
