We have been renting from Geneseo Mini-Storage for 2 years now, and LOVE this facility! They are so easy to work with, and are very pleasant! My daughter attends Geneseo, so I book storage in Feb-March when the rates are really low to be certain that my daughter has a unit in time for the end of her spring semester. The rates are cheaper then, and even though I am paying for a couple of extra months it works out to be the same price if I had booked it when the rates go up in April & May. (And I am guaranteed to have a storage unit when school lets out and they become scarce.) The units are CLEAN, secure and easy access. Very, very pleased!
Shady BusinessnStorage units are close to the campus but their pricing policy is based on supply and demand. Last year they advertised a student discount of $29 per month for a 5x5 unit. The small print mentioned that the special price was a month to month contract until you graduate. If you need a unit for 4 months (May-August) you pay $300 standard price. Price per month is $75. If you take the unit until you graduate the price of $29 a month becomes $1044 if you rent it for 36 month. I don't know anybody who likes to pay $232 for an unit that is empty for 8 months.
