Buffalo County Treasurer

Very, very rude employees in this office. They called the police on a tourist video taping the building. Shame, shame on you. They violated a man's rights. Even the sheriff's office doesn't know the law. Avoid this county!

'Customer service' is non-existent. Employees of this office treated me as if I were a burden, DID NOT answer all of my questions and cut me off to help another customer. Also, stated it was 'their lunch hour' that I had interupted and maybe I should try again later. Unacceptable. I'll most certainly remember this experience during the next election.

I went to the treasurer to license and pay the taxes on a new vehicle. When I went to pay I was using a check, it turns out that they will not take out of state checks and since I am in the military I only have Navy Federal out of Virginia as a bank. My only option was to pay the $3,000 in cash, which I couldn't get because my bank was out of state, or pay with a debit card and incur a 3% fee. I ended up paying with the same bank's debit card that the check was from but had to pay an extra $100. I found the employees to be unhelpful and cold to customers.
