They sent Derek and Aedan out two journey men. They were extremely efficient and knew exactly what they were doing. They managed to solve what appeared to be a complex problem and make it a simple solution and a short I’m out of time. They were in my home for less than 30 minutes. I had a master electrician out prior I wanted to rip my ceiling out in order to try to solve the problem. The quote was in the thousands. These two gentlemen knew what they were doing And did not gouge me. I have respect for true professionals. I highly recommend State ElectricnSincerely Maria Polowniak

We had State Electric out after another electric company had failed to diagnose a problem and tried to up-sell us into an unneeded workaround. Derek showed up and found the issue quickly and resolved it no problem no unnecessary cost involved.nHighly recommend!

Dishonest Tech, possibly dishonest organization as a whole.nnI’m an owner of a rental property and have a contract with American Home Shield (AHS). My tenant recently stated that a ceiling fan makes a loud squeaking noise and does not circulate air as fast as it used to. The tenant also sent me a video clearly exhibiting this issue. I opened a work order with AHS to address this issue and they assigned State Electric Company as the contractor to complete the work.nnPrior to the appointment, I spoke with a technician and told them to contact me if they needed anything or ran into any issues, to which they never did.nnUpon arrival, the technician told the tenant the following:nn-tThe fan is in decent shape and the issue might be a bearing that’s starting to wear outn-tDue to guidelines and standards from AHS, they could not perform any work as they cannot work on anything that is higher than what can be accessed from a 6-ft laddern-tSince the ceiling is vaulted, the technician said it would require scaffolding and a sign off from AHSn-tThe technician gave the tenant his card and said to pass along his info as he could complete the worknnAfter hearing this from the tenant, I reached out to AHS for an explanation. AHS stated the work order has been closed, but there weren’t any notes for the resolution. According to AHS, they made multiple calls to State Electric for clarification, all of which were not answered or returned. I then decided to reach out to State Electric. I got ahold of someone, and she confirmed the 6-ft ladder restriction and that she would have the tech complete the notes in the completed work order.nnI called AHS back 48 hours later to find out that essentially the completed work order notes stated the fan did not require any work and was operational. No mention of the bearings as stated to the tenant. I then followed up with AHS on the 6-ft ladder restriction and they stated they don’t make these restrictions with the contractors.nnThe following are my takeaways for each item that was relayed to my tenant:nn-tThe technician told the tenant the bearing may be the issue with the fan, yet he closes out the work order stating there is no issue.n-tState Electric says there is a 6-ft ladder restriction, while AHS says there isn’t. AHS also sent out another technician, EXPLICITLY telling them to bring a larger ladder.n-tYes, the ceiling is vaulted, but it is not CATHERDRAL. They are 10-12 feet tall at most. My father and I (who are not professional electricians) installed this fan without issue. Scaffolding? Really, you can’t use an 8-ft ladder??? How tall is the tech??? If a sign off from AHS was needed, why didn’t the technician call them when he was on site? He also could’ve called me as I stated earlier.n-tPassing along your business card to FIX something outside of using AHS is highly unprofessional. If the fan did not require any work, AS STATED IN YOUR WORK ORDER COMPLETION NOTES, why would you pass along your business card to FIX the issue???nnI could go deeper on why I think they thought they could BS their way through this with my tenant, but will stick to the facts and not get into conjecture. Just be mindful when using these guys, especially when going through a home warranty company. This could’ve easily been resolved by replacing the bearing or at most an entire fan…a $150 fan!!!! But no, they want to fight a little job to save a few bucks and risk their reputation, and I’m going to call them on it. Much time was wasted and aggravation was had thanks to State Electric Company.
