Went into Plato’s closet Utica with my amazing girlfriend to sell a bin of clothing we had laying around. We were waited on by an employee named Kim who not only went out of her way to meet and exceed every expectation we had prior to coming in - but also did it with enthusiasm. I cannot stress this enough, Kim is the last of a dying breed in an industry where at times it seems like good customer service is no longer the norm. The way she handled our questions, cares and concerns was incredibly personal and made the two us feel right at home. Last thing, she went as far as grabbing a pair of shoes out of the bin that wasn’t purchased originally, and got us close to $10 extra bucks before we walked out. Thank you Kim, for being passionate about what you do - and building not just a repeat customer base, but also a friendship.nnJesse and Susan!!!

I visited on 3/6/21 (a Saturday). A young lady checked my ID, she wrote my name on a post it note, placed it on my bin and, said “you will get a call when your items have finished being reviewed”. I left out, I didn’t receive a call Saturday, nor Sunday so I decided to finally call Monday. A guy named Jacob answered, he said my items have been voided cuz I left them there overnight, I advised him that I never received a call Saturday which is why I am finally calling today, Monday! I escalated the call to a manager named Alex, told her the same thing, she apologized a bunch of times and told me there was nothing she can do about it, they were busy Saturday which is why I didn’t receive a call! I then escalated higher to the Store owner, Kim. Kim reviewed my items & allowed me to cash out. She was understanding with me considering the error on the employees end. At the end of the day, it’s the principle for me, an employee caused the error, the store should automatically work to resolve the issue, made a big deal into nothing. Hopefully, Kim (the new store owner) will implement better customer service!

I went there today to take in some clothes that don’t fit me and just clothes I don’t need. I had mostly name brand clothes, polo, nautica, callaway, Columbia, etc.... 90% had been dry cleaned and were super clean. They were not busy to the point where they couldn’t look at my stuff. So, all they did was grab the shirts they wanted and didn’t look at anything else. That will be prolly be the last time I go there. They didn’t want to take brand new pants either. I wouldn’t take you stuff there unless you know for sure they will take it, waste of time if you ask me. If the manager or owner want to look at my stuff I will gladly let them but if not, it is a waste of time. Think you need people working there who know what they are looking at also.

The store use to be so easy to take your gently worn clothes to. It was super convenient and gave you a decent amount back. Adding to what others have said it is now a complete pain to do so as to have to set up an appointment and provide them with a plastic bin for your clothes. I understand limiting things via appointment do to covid but it is a bit much to expect people to provide your store with plastic bins. One would think that once clothes were processed and put on the floor you would have sufficient extra bins. Anyways the cost of having to buy a bin makes it less cost effective for you to take used clothes there sell them online instead.

Waste of time. You bring in nicely folded clean laundered clothing —they don’t take anything. They should post on Google —days they aren’t taking things. Days they’ve gotten to many items for the day. Etc. I suggest you call before you stop in. Otherwise it’ll be a waste.
