My wife and I went here last week. This was our first time kayaking. We went on the lower river. The water was clear, warm and very relaxing. The process to get started was organized, and for all that needed to happen, fairly fast. however, plan on check being about a half hour. Time to get signed up, go through the talk, and drop your car off at the bottom, then be shuttled back up. Very reasonably priced.

Had a great time as always. Super friendly helpful staff. Not sure where they find such a great group of teenagers year after year. We have Experienced all of their trips and have loved them all. Great burgers and ice cream too. Starting coming almost 40 years ago. Glad to be able to bring our family after coming as a kid. We really do love going down the river before 10 and after the crowds leave when it is more peaceful late afternoon.

Always enjoy our trip down the lower Platte River. My kids always prefer kayaking over canoeing. This time we decided to pay the extra $5 to not bring the equipment back and stay and have a picnic and swim at the mouth of the Platte River, which we enjoyed very much. If you walk a little bit past the parking lot to the north you'll find a spot along the river that is shallow enough to cross even if you're carrying coolers and beach chairs.

The Kayaking itself was excellent, but it was the service that made this a 4-Star experience. First, Many employees wear no mask, or a mask that doesn’t cover their nose. Next, when others didn’t wear masks, the employees did not blink an eye. The employees were not very patient when explaining the rules. Many kids were working there that had no clue what they were doing. The kayaking itself was amazing. Beautiful views, and an excellent trip.

Check in process was awful. People everywhere. No organization to anything. Check in inside, now go outside for instructions from a kid who can't explain anything, then back inside to continue the check in, now take your car here. It wasn't pleasant. One person should be able to explain everything to you espesially when I called and prepaid with reservations. I tried to make my end as easy as possible. We were supposed to launch at 11 and didn't until noon because of all the craziness. Then heard it should only take 2.5 hours but we went ahead and paid for unlimited time. There is absolutely no way we could've finished in 2.5 hours. It took us 4.5 hours. The winds were pushing us back. I ended up having to walk my double kayak back about a 1/2 mile because the wind was so strong coming off lake Michigan. This was not a relaxing kayak trip.
