Had a great time at Platte River Campground! Chose the hike-in sites and it was definitely a blast. Close enough drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Very clean & it’s nice this time of year. Only two other groups and it was nice and quiet you could only hear the wind blowing through the trees
Beautiful setting. Nicely wooded large campsites. Well maintained restrooms and showers.
We camped one night at the Platte River Campground at Sleeping Bear Dunes. The campsites were nice, very wooded and easy access to trails. While visiting, we drove the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive. There are a couple overlooks along the drive with great views of the dunes and Lake Michigan. The dunes were much bigger than I was expecting. We also hiked Empire Bluff Trail out to the bluffs to watch the sunset. It was really beautiful. I'd like to come back and spend more time at the park.
One of the best campgrounds in the area. Clean facilities, well maintained sites, and close to the platt river and lake michigan
