Incredible experience! SD pheasant has always been a dream. My friend and I booked two days on the preserve hunt and we limited out in less than two hours both days. The food was always hot and ready. The guides were extremely professional. The dogs were amazing to watch work. Clean facilities. Relaxing atmosphere. I plan to book another trip for snow geese in March. Excellent hunt opportunity for children who want non-stop bird action. Great option for a couples hunt too. Highly recommended!
Chose Northern Plains for a pheasant hunt for myself, father, and brother we were extremely glad we did. Shannon has an excellent lodge with great staff, accommodations and fabulous food. Todd our guide and sweetheart Libby the lab did a wonderful job putting us on birds and getting our limits of birds. Surprisingly the hole hunt we barely saw any other hunters felt like it was our own private experience. If you are looking for a place for hunting in South Dakota there is only one choice Northern Plains Outfitters.nnThanks again!nnJoel

Just got back from a snow goose hunt at NPO. Although the geese didn't cooperate very well, the experience was awesome. Shannon and the crew did a fantastic job guiding and the accommodations at the lodge were excellent. My first time snow goose hunting and I will definitely go back. Whether you are an experienced hunter or your first time out, I highly recommend giving Northern Plains a try. Thanks for a great hunt, see you guys next year!
I booked a late season pheasant hunt and all was good until I was contacted by Northern Plains and told the weather made it impossible to hunt for the dates which I had booked (looking at the local weather I was skeptical of this reasoning). Having paid for the hunt already I asked about a refund and after numerous attempts at communicating with NPO I was eventually told that a refund check was being sent to me. That check never came.nnAs for the amenties and the hunting I cannot provide a review. But as for the booking and related service it was a terrible experience.
