This school is extraordinary! They have caring teachers who go the extra mile. There is even free tutoring at school. In 2015, every seventh grader passed the State Constitution Test, most with a grade of 90% or higher. Edline keeps you up to date on missing homework assignments and grades, beginning in elementary school. The Preschool and Kindergarten are top notch. Students start Spanish in third grade. Cursive, old school grammar and an innovative math curriculum will raise your child's test scores. Gifted students will be challenged, and those with learning differences will be supported. No more begging for teacher responses; this school is on top of it. St. Francis has every activity public school does, but usually several years earlier. The Athletics Department provides great athletics training and participation opportunities, such as track and field, basketball and volleyball. Registration fees for sports are reasonable, the coaching is fantastic, and it starts as early as fourth grade. Did you know that there is free bus service if you live in District 95? Taft is in May, not the winter. Your child will enjoy trips to Springfield and Washington, D.C. A high proportion of eighth graders place into honors classes for high school. School uniforms are actually cheaper than regular school clothes; you can pick up most items you need at the PTO Used Uniform Sale for $1. Speaking of the PTO, the moms are drama-free and lots of fun. Kids at this school are polite, have a serving heart and are age-appropriate. The tuition is very reasonable, especially when you consider what you save in outside sports registration fees and school clothes. Historically a Blue Ribbon School, the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Foundation honored St. Francis with a $200,000 grant to be used towards technological advancements. The Loyola University Chicago’s School of Education Center for Catholic School Effectiveness also has selected the school to participate in a pilot curriculum program. Chrome Books, White Boards, and more help students receive the cutting edge in learning techniques, while using time-tested methods to ensure your child can actually read, write and manually calculate. St. Francis de Sales will transform your whole family.
