Only found out about this place earlier this summer, but have been every couple of weeks since. I love that it feels like being in the country but is close to home. Lots of space to roam around with plenty of trails so you feel like you have the place to yourself. The city has placed dog waste stations at the parking area, but unfortunately, some people don't take advantage of them. No excuses people, pick up after your dogs.
This is the best dog park in Sioux Falls, it has 2 sections, one for small dogs and one for all dogs. Both are pretty large areas with benches, picnic tables, tunnels, large area for the dogs to run and play, water fountains for getting drinks or to cool down. There is a small lake down below with restrooms that are nice and clean. All around Family Park are trails to walk and get excercise for both you and your pets. Family Park is definitely my favorite dog park.
Amazing dog park! They have it sectioned off so you can bring your smaller dog with other smaller dogs. The big dog section has plenty of room for them to run around
I absolutely love this place! I frequent the dog park more than any of the other areas of this park. It isn't advertised a whole lot online. It has a two part dog park, one area for small dogs and another larger area for ALL dog sizes. There are picnic tables and benches on both sides as well as large logs and concrete tubes that the dogs can climb on and run under. There are normal dog park water fountains, but they also have hose stations (on a timer button) on both sides to wash your dog off when they get muddy or to fill some sort of water container that you bring for your dog. My absolute favorite part about this place is the off-leash trails that wind throughout the park! They are well maintained, and lots of fun. It's not as big of a place as Spencer Park, but it does not flood at all because it is on top of a hill. One downside to that is in the colder part of the year, the wind can be atrocious. So make sure you bundle up and wear lots of layers during the winter! Frank and I love coming here at least once a week.
Great park best when no one else is there
