It's a really great place overall, even though the location is nearly a ghetto, they can hardly do any renovations because the building is really old, and the SCOPE program qualifies as child abuse. Almost all the teachers are very nice and their expectations are reasonable, and so is the punishment system. The 2017-2018 6th grade class was horrendous.

My daughter received an outstanding education at Iles! I was dellighted to have her in such a caring nurturing environment. She soared there.nIncidentally, her classmates formed such a lasting bond that they mentored and supported each other all the way through high school.nnUpon graduation, they joined together and traveled to Asia as a group. The trip was a temporary goodbye as they all went off to prestigious universities where they had been indivually granted major scholarships. Their achievements and their enduring friendships are due, in no small part, to their education at Iles Elementary.nnPlease do not rate the school upon your grievances with particular teachers. There are ways to express your gripes without bringing down the entire staff. The rating here is for the school - not for slamming publicly a teacher who may actually have a different perspective from your own. Your review and mine are for the same place.nnLook, it's easy to target a teacher upon the word of your child. It's harder for a teacher who may have had no opportunity to tell their side. I'm not saying you are wrong to call out low performance, there are established ways to do that. But it's hard to be a teacher today in a public school!
