South Story Bank & Trust

I've had so many problems with this bank that I don't know where to begin. Communication is awful. I live abroad at the moment, which the bank knows, and I needed to withdraw money to put into my overseas account. The bank was informed that such a withdrawal would be taking place, yet continued to block the withdrawal, even after about six phone calls in which they said they would be allowing the withdrawal to go through within a few minutes. I spent ten hours of my day trying to make a withdrawal the bank knew I was trying to make. Currently, they are still not allowing the withdrawal, leaving me without sufficient funds in my overseas account to pay a deposit for housing. Thanks to this bank, I'll likely lose the housing I've arranged as I'm now unable to pay a deposit, despite the fact that I informed the bank of my intentions in advance.nnThis is far from the only time I've had issues with South Story blocking transactions that I have specifically informed them about. This happened when I lived in the US as well, so it's not just a matter of being abroad. I will never recommend South Story and will be closing my account as soon as I can.

We recently moved both our business and personal accounts to South Story, and have been impressed with the level of customer service, proactive approach and responsiveness we've received! The level of understanding regarding our business needs exceeded our expectations. Ragan is amazing to work with - thank you! On the personal side, Steve has made the transition easy, and has gone out of his way to help us. Another big thank you! Everyone else in the Huxley and Ames offices have been great as well.

Terrible place to bank!! Eric Hockenberry, knows nothing about farming, He his terrible about communication, I send him emails and he never responds. I explained my finances with him, it goes in one ear and out the other, I have banked here about 8 years, This was a good bank, When Kevin Brooks and Scott Henry, Lewis Toutz, worked there. I never had communication issues, they helped me work through tough times. There must been a good reason why 3 people left and all got jobs instantly at bigger name banks,nMyself and many other small businesses are gonna be struggling to make it through these tough times, I've had to hire an attorney to help get me out of this bank, so my advice to you is to think twice before banking here, I will say the tellers and ACH staff are very nice people but the lack of knowledge and communication in heart of the operation has made this poor place to bank.nTo add to the last post I'm still trying to get away from these crooks, I found an investor to help me get out, Then Art Meyers decides to add $79k unanswered fees to my payoff, These people are crooks, I will be forced to pay it and fight it after the facts to prevent them from selling me out through the courts, People who think this is a great bank, you are crazy!!! I have had Covid twice while trying to battle with these people they have no remorse. Hospital total of 10 days and almost passed the 2nd time. When Covid struck in March they would not extend my loans due to places closed and we were unable to finish jobs to make our payments. My advice to you, is get outta this bank because when your sick with Covid these people don't care. They are after my equity and not willing to work through tough times. You've been warned!!!
