Best you can get in Sioux Falls far as I'm concerned

Have never had a bad experience here since the day they opened! Food is amazing, employees are friendly and helpful and restaurant is simple yet perfect. If you're craving a burrito WELL worth the price, this is the place to go!

So, I love Gilberto's food. I come time and time again because they are 24 hours, and I'm up until the am's often. I always get their super fries with carnitas and no sour cream or guacamole (so basically just french fries, shredded pork and melted shredded cheese), and am hardly ever disappointed with my order, or the taste of their food. However, I am sick and tired of being turned away from ordering. There's been multiple times now where I've walked to their location some time between 3am-5:30am, only to get turned away because they're cleaning their kitchen and equipment. Most times I'm told the kitchen would be down for a whole hour, so waiting wouldn't help. Now, I was told the first time it happened that this happens every night between 4am-5am, so to just avoid that hour. But, since that first occasion it's happened at different times, leaving me confused and frustrated. This last time it happened I came in at 4:50am, they were cleaning the kitchen. After standing there for a few minutes waiting to be addressed by one of the many workers who saw me standing at the register, I was told they couldn't take my order and that they would be down for an hour. I bit my tongue, and went to leave. Then I was stopped by the same employee and told that this always happens between 4 and 5 so to not come during that hour. I repeated that information back to him, and then quoted that the time was now 4:56 so if they were gonna be down for another hour, then that isn't accurate or true. I really hope they regard this experience, because it's the only thing stopping me from giving them 5 star reviews.nIF YOU'RE GOING TO BE OPEN 24 HOURS, THEN BE OPEN 24 HOURS. IF YOU'RE NOT, THEN DON'T ADVERTISE YOU ARE. AT THE VERY LEAST, ANSWER THE PHONES WHEN A CUSTOMER CALLS TO SEE IF YOU'RE TAKING ORDERS OR NOT.

Usually good food & service. I accidentally ordered from the Gilbertos across town. Called 3 times to cancel and each time the phone just continued ringing. I decided to go and pick up my order in case they decide not to refund me. Got there and was told the menudo that’s I ordered was only available on the weekend. So I spent about an hour of my time driving for nothing. This could have been avoided if they either answered their phone or took the small step to call me when the order came through on their system. Horrible customer service to say the least.

The website has absolutely no descriptions. I ordered a cheese enchilada thinking it would have no meat. considering the name was CHEESE enchilada. it had meat. I am vegetarian. I also ordered rice with pico and potatoes, and there was 1/3 of the container filled with pico. SO MUCH. I had to empty half of it into the garbage so i could eat my rice. The website needs photos, descriptions, and allergy descriptions. Not sure why i ever order here anymore, because every time i do I have a bad experience.
