The bats started coming out last night at 7:52pm, and kept at it for over 10-15 minutes. We had heard there aren’t as many this year due to the freeze but there were still hundreds and it was cool to see them fly out! Sitting on the lawn/hill across the river from the Line hotel was a great vantage point. Check out reviews for Statesman Bat Observation Center for additional helpful info. And, bonus, Walking back over the bridge the skyline was stunning!!

The Congress Avenue bridge is better known for what is under the bridge than on top. From the surface it just seems like another bridge. You need to follow the pathways under the bridge to appreciate the landmark. You will also find a good jogging trail. For those who like bats the side of the bridge near the Hyatt is where you will find the bats at the right time. It is peaceful with the Colorado River passing through.

Great activity. Must see this I saw it from the bridge . Would love to catch it from the ground next time take some food and a blanket or from the water on a kayak . Beautiful to see and was a bucket list item. We actually took lime bikes from hotel and parked them at the end of the bridge then walked up

LOVED seeing the bats fly out from under the bridge! Easy access above and below from either side. Gorgeous view of the sunset along with the city of downtown Austin, TX. There are also boat tours, kayak and paddle board rentals.

By far the most convenient place in Austin to throw scooters into a body of water.
