Beautiful natural area. We ride our mules there. The trails are nicely maintained. Take your phone with GPS and a mapping app if you are going on a longer hike or ride so you know where you are. Please consider the horse trailers when parking for a day hike by not parking a car out on the middle of the lot.
It depends on what you're looking for. This is a state FOREST; not quite a state PARK. Trails are rugged, lightly travelled, open for horses. Great view and picnic spot at Coyote Point. But don't expect the conveniences of a state park.

Very beautiful place. Peaceful, quiet, and clean. Watch out for mosquitoes and ticks.
