This is a great place to wander around. There a good amount of trails and boardwalks. We did spot some beautiful birds. However, you’ve to be lucky to spot an alligator. The place sure is a stress buster and a quick getaway from the city hustle. The interpretive center is located right next to parking and the staff were really nice and provided us with the info and the maps. I highly recommend this place.

This is not handicap accessible at all. They have handicap parking to get you close to the classrooms and restrooms. The trails are not mobility friendly. You can not get a stroller or wheelchair down any off them. There are roots and mud and narrow walkways. This is wooded trails. You will need to bring in your own backpack of supplies, water, sunscreen, and bug spray. It is a very nice area and park, but it is only for an experienced hiker or someone who is physically fit.

Really nice place for a walk. We especially enjoyed the rice field area - spotted alligators (from a distance!) and birds. Dirt and grass paths with lots of roots made it more interesting for our group but would not be good for some. We brought our lunch and ate at the picnic tables near the parking area.nThe signage was inconsistent - some really large signs and then some almost nonexistent signs. Trust the map and believe that the path is there!

If you enjoy wildlife, Caw Caw is the place for you. I believe it's known for its birds, but those were sparse (possibly because it's winter?). Instead we saw plenty of reptiles and amphibians: gators, turtles, snakes, frogs! If you have a nice camera, bring it! The images will turn out substantially better than phone photos.nFirst 4 photos credit to @gatling_images

This was a really fun surprise for us. had never heard of it and nobody suggested it to us. We just saw the sign along the road while we were driving from Charleston to Savannah and decided to stop. So glad we did! Really beautiful place where you get to experience some local wildlife and ecosystem, while enjoying very comfortable and well maintained trails.nnMy favorite part was the boardwalk through the Cypress swamp. We saw lots of different birds including Ibis, Egret, and Herons. Also saw a friendly snake sunning himself!nnEasy to do a full loop in about an hour and a half.
