We did a quick stop here while driving from Atlanta to Charleston. As such, our visit was brief. The walk from the parking lot to the visitor center is relatively short (~quarter mile) but allows you to walk through some beautiful swamps. Up at the center (closed because of COVID), the outdoor facilities were kept nice. Wish we had some time for a longer walk or possible bike ride through all the various paths.

Great hiking trails! While we were not able to gain access to the main property, specifically the Audubon Center and the boardwalk (because the center was closed due to Covid), we were still lucky enough to see that a new trail has been marked in the forest and is open to the public for free. To find the new trail, look for the gravel parking lot just to the left of the main entrance, park and enjoy a 1.2 mile or a 0.8 mile hike along quiet well-marked trails. Great for kids or anyone wanting a short peaceful walk.

Haven't been here in over 20 years. Board walk still in good shape. The hollowed out tree must have falling down many years ago. But the steps still go down to it.nnOn how to get there. Would stay off Mims rd since it's narrow and aholes won't move over. Stay on SR 18-25

Serene 1000 year old growth Forest. 19000 acres. 1.75 miles of boardwalk through the heart of 4 Hole Swamp.

No wildlife to see except 2 water snakes.
