This area has some of the best views on the parkway as far as distance goes. The Viaduct itself is very cool to see, especially when shrouded in fog, when you ascend the first big corner, it just looks like you're driving into the clouds. Fall is especially beautiful in this area. There are several lookouts and places to pull over. Just drive carefully because people are all over there place including the road.

Amazing bridge! There is also a great view at this location! Well worth the trip to see this engineering marvel in June. Can only imagine it being a better place to snap a photo in fall with the leaves changing out in the spring with everything starting to bloom. Some of the holes in this area were awesome as well

This area truly takes your breath away as you round the turns. You travel along the slopes of Grandfather Mountain with views of the distant Linville Gorge to the east. There is also a trail that goes under the viaduct.

Do NOT come here on a Saturday in peak season. I came through on 10/17/20 and it took 3 hours to drive ELEVEN MILES! The traffic immediately dissipated after passing this point. It was beautiful, but never again do I hope to suffer through that horrendous 2mph traffic jam.

It's a great view point. Getting there on the blue ridge parkway is also a very scenic drive over a bridge that gives a great view
