It is really pretty, but it is also kind of easy to get lost. Be careful, and read the signs carefully. I saw some wildlife ( a crane!), So bring a camera with you if you want. There are educational signs along the trails. They provide interesting information about plants and animals. The trail gets a little rough in some places, with exposed tree roots, so watch your step. Bring someone with you when you walk, it is safer to hike with a buddy. Parts of the trail brush a residential area, you walk past some peoples back yards, please be careful not to disturb them or trespass. Remember to always tell someone where you are going before you go on a hike.

My husband Steve and i travel through MS on our way to visit relatives in FL every year. We were looking for a peaceful place with a picnic table to have our lunch. We discovered Depot Creek Greenbelt on our GPS and decided to stop. The pavilion is a nice spot for a picnic but there needs to be a clean-up commity come through. Also the trail is being ignored by the city. If it were cleaned up and repaired this would be a very nice spot to enjoy nature. We would stop here every trip if it were in better shape.

The Greenway use to be a great educational place for young children. But it has been neglected to long. Its in need of major repairs.

This place has been abandoned for a while. Some of the signs are down, a lot of the wood is rotten, the boardwalks are closed. Too bad, because it could be a nice place, but don't waste your time.
