Wow. I can't agree more with Jess Johnson's assessment. I was onboarded by a very nice and patient trainer from Miami who was studying in St. Louis; but once I started going to the classes on my own, the atmosphere felt less welcoming and cliquish. The trainer provided little guidance and seemed irritated if you asked questions. Other students who had been going there for a while (and seemed to know each other) were standoffish. Not a welcoming atmosphere at all. I tried to carry on, but cancelled my membership after 2 months.
Crossfit South City feels like home. I've been at a gym for 30 years. This one is by far my favorite.
I've been a member at CFSC for almost a year now and I am so happy I joined. Not only do I get awesome workouts but I have made a whole new group of friends. This gym definitely has the most caring/welcoming staff and members. 10 thumbs up!
If you want to be part of a gym that is friendly and inviting DONT GO HERE!! Initially they act friendly to keep you coming, but wow how quickly that changed. On several occasions I over heard staff including one of the owners making fun of some of their members, and laughing if people were not “ up to their standards”. I personally could not stay and support a place that is so mean spirited. I left a little while back. I decided to speak out so no one else would go through this.
My 14 mth membersip at CFSC has been my best fitness experience. The coaches are all excellent and work with everyone on an individual basis. Great communinuty as well. I highly recommend CFSC for all ages and fitness levels.
